Leopards are agile animals with bright eyes and a spotted body.

Leopards have fur with numerous rosettes on their flanks, spots on their head and neck, and a white area on their tails. The spots help them to stay camouflaged at night, and the white area on their tails helps the mother communicate with her cubs. Although females spend over half their life taking care of cubs, males are mostly solitary, living in the same territory as lions and tigers up to age twenty one. Known to leap six times their body length, leopards are powerful as their short legs allow them to pounce on their prey. As nighttime hunters, leopards pretty much eat whatever they can find and can take down animals three times their size -- even livestock! These felines love to climb trees and often take their dinner there so that they can eat on their own.
Fun Facts: A leopard's tail may be longer than a yardstick.
